Instead of focusing on what I seemed to be losing by getting older, I decided to look for the gifts that life was handing to me. Letting go of beliefs like “life is all downhill after 50”—beliefs that might once have comforted or motivated me, but no longer served—opened me to joy, possibilities, and new directions.
